Assistant Project Manager


About the Jan Sahas:For more than 19 years, Jan Sahas has been working with socially excluded communities in seven states of India. We are operating in 56 districts of seven states of India. Recognizing deplorable situation migrant construction workers of Bundelkhand, Jan Sahas has initiated a flagship programme “Nirmaan Mazdoor SashaktikaranKaryakram”, operational in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and NCR region. The programme is aimed at empowering one lakh households of construction workers.


We are currently recruiting for the position of Assistant Project Manager-Migration and Labour

Number of Positions: One

Location: Dewas (requires traveling to Delhi and Bundelkhand)


Your responsibilities as a Assistant Project Manager Migration would be centered on the following tasks and functions:

  • Assist Project manager in managing and delivering the program.

  • Assist Project manager in developing and managing budget.

  • Work with Project manager in managing project team to develop and implement programs.

  • Ensure that the project team follows best practices and standard operation procedures.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team to achieve project objectives.

  • Monitor and manage project team to ensure project delivery within allotted budget and timelines.

  • Update Project manager about project status, updates and concerns on weekly basis.

  • Ensure all project-related documents are properly updated and maintained.

  • Conduct project status meetings on regular basis.

  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.

  • Recommend improvements to increase program operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Conduct performance review and provide feedback to staff for improvements.

  • Assist in managing the work with partners and sub-awardees.

  • Assist in development of business proposals and contracts for new opportunities.






  • Master’s degree from a reputed institution such as TISS, IRMA, XISS with 3-5 years or above and already worked on Assistant/Managerial position

  • Work experience of NGO/Societies mandatory

  • Knowledge of labour rights

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to multi task and take responsibility for the timely completion of activities.

  • Strong management and business development skills.

  • Remuneration will commensurate with qualification and experience. This is a high-level position requiring an experienced candidate.
