Work Experience Criteria

  • At least 6 years of relevant Post Qualification Experience

Essential Experience

  • Implementation, Coordination and Monitoring of a large-scale livelihoods programme / business enterprise at least at the District Leadership Level
  • Leading a team of at least 10 professional staff. Team management and supervision of district and block teams.
  • Experience in promoting enterprises, rural marketing, rural finance, enterprise financing, marketing support and service delivery in farm/ non-farm sector.

Recruitment & Selection Process to be followed for recruitment and selection of District Executive Officers (DEOs) for TNRTP

  1. Advertisement would be released in local newspapers to ensure the vacancy announcement is widely seen.
  1. The advertisement will clearly state the eligibility criteria in terms of age limits, education qualification, and duration of relevant post qualification work experience (as applicable).
  1. All applications would be invited ONLINE
  1. Screening of applications received would be strictly done on the basis of eligibility criteria prescribed for the position. The eligibility criteria has been defined in terms of
    • Age
    • Education Qualification
    • Duration of work experience (calculated post the qualifying education degree)
    • Relevance of post qualification work experience – in terms of the domain of experience required and the level/scope of the work handled.
    • All Age Limits and Duration of post qualification experience would be calculated from the date of release of advertisement.
  1. Based on the information provided by candidates online, those who meet the eligibility criteria will be provisionally shortlisted to appear for the selection process.
  1. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain his/her eligibility for the position by carefully going through the prescribed eligibility criteria for the position. TNRTP has the irrefutable right to revoke lien to employment to any candidate at any stage of the recruitment process, including Post joining.
  1. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that all information submitted by them in the online application is true and can be supported by original documents as proof. They should carefully fill in the online application form.
  1. All information and details claimed in the online application form by the candidate would be verified before the start of stage two of the selection process by matching it with original documents as proof. In case it is found that the candidate in unable to provide proof of details provided online (e.g. – age, education qualification, relevance of post qualification work experience etc.), Or it is found that a candidate has produced a fake certificate for any of the above, OR it is found that the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria prescribed for the position, their candidature may be cancelled without any notice at any stage of the selection process.
  1. All information regarding advertisements, screening, announcements regarding admit cards, written tests, interviews, etc. would be regularly updated on the website of the HR Agency undertaking the recruitment as well on the TNRTP website. It is the responsibility of the candidates to check the website periodically for update and other announcement.



  1. For the DEO position, the first stage of the selection process would consist of a written test. The written test will carry a weightage of 75% of the total overall score. The written test would be in two parts.
    • A multiple-choice objective test. The Multiple choice objective written test would consist of questions related to the following:
      1. Position/ Domain Knowledge & Experience (for that position)
      2. Questions related to General awareness about issues of social and rural development in TN & India.
      3. Questions related to IQ, covering quantitative aptitude, reasoning, data interpretation and Computer literacy etc.
      4. The multiple-choice objective test would have a pass mark of 40%.
    • A subjective test based on a case-study analysis.
    • All provisionally shortlisted candidates would take both the multiple choice objective test as well as subjective case study analysis.
    • However, based on the scores obtained by candidates in the multiple choice written test, Subjective case study analysis test would be evaluated ONLY for candidates in the merit order in the ratio of 1:4.
    • The subjective test would have a pass mark of 40%.
  1. Based on the scores obtained in the subjective test a merit list will be prepared in the ratio of 1:3. These candidates would be called to appear for second round of selection process.
  1. The Second stage of selection process would consist of a psychometric test and a Personal Interview. The psychometric test would carry a weightage of 10% and the Personal Interview would carry a weightage of 15% of the overall score.
  1. Before the start of the second stage of selection process, all details provided by candidates in their online application - (reservation category, domicile, age proof, education proof, work experience proof) who have been provisionally shortlisted will be verified against original documents. In case it is found that the details provided by the candidate does not match with the original certificates produced OR it is found that the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria prescribed for the position, s/he shall be disqualified and will not be allowed to attend the selection process.
  1. Based on the score obtained by the candidates in subjective written test, psychometric test and Personal Interview, a category wise merit list would be prepared for each position.
  1. All expenses incurred to attend this selection process shall be borne by candidates themselves.
