 Background

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a one-of-its-kind, Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in India, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. A not-for-profit company set up by the Ministry of Finance, under Section 25 of the Companies Act.
NSDC provides funding to build scalable and profitable vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is also to enable support system which focuses on quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. It will also develop appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives.

Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) project aims to implement the mandate of the National Skill Development Mission (NSDM), which was launched on 15th July by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, through its core
sub-missions. The project will be implemented in mission mode through World Bank support and is aligned with the overall objectives of the NSDM. The main objectives of the project include strengthening institutional mechanisms at both national and state levels, building a poolof quality trainers and assessors, creating convergence among all skill training activities at thestate level, establishing robust monitoring and evaluation system for skill training programs, providing access to skill training opportunities to the disadvantaged sections and most importantly supplement the Make in India initiative by catering to the skill requirements in relevant manufacturing sectors.

SANKALP is an outcome oriented project supported by World Bank. The project will focus on the overall skilling ecosystem covering both Central (MSDE, NSDA and NSDC) and State agencies, and outcomes will be measured through Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) agreedbetween MSDE and the Bank. A DLI verification protocol has also been established to measureDLIs on a periodic basis.

SIDS is working as a consultant for recruitment and selection of various staffs for SANKALP project under NSDC. Now applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Consultant-(Research Analyst-Social Sector) under SANKALP project:-

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SANKALP with policy related research
  • Track development in skill development and related areas and keep the wing appraised of the same
  • Provide research based inputs, write reports, Assist in developing notes to further inter-ministerial relationship, State-specific activities, and other relevant areas under the project

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification:

Post Graduate from prestigious national or international institute//University in Economics/Management/Social Science or equivalent.

Experience:
3-5 years’ experience preferably in skill development & livelihood sector.

Essentials:

  • Should have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Should be excellent with numbers
  • Should have sound IT skills including excel
  • Exposure to tools such as SPSS,SAS desirable
  • Should have proven ability in writing reports, papers etc.
  • Proficiency in working with MS office is must.

Duration:

Initially 1 year contract, but it may extend based upon review, satisfactory performance and continuity of project

Terms and Conditions:

  • Candidates who fulfil all the eligibility criteria for the positions must only apply.
  • The recruitment for above mentioned post will be purely on contractual basis subject to renewal on satisfactory performance and continuity of the Project.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written / interview or both.
  • There shall be no any claim of Permanent appointment in any circumstances.

If any of this is found to be untrue or it is found that he/she does not meet any of the eligibility criteria, their candidature may be cancelled without any notice at any stage of the selection process.
